Forgotten Transports to Estonia
During the One World International Film Festival, Forum 2000 Foundation, the Office of the Czech Government, and the Organizing Committee of the Holocaust Era Assets Conference (OCHEA) hosted the screening of the documentary “Forgotten Transports to Estonia.“
The film is a part of a project about forgotten Jewish transports that consists of four documentaries focused on the same topic. All of them were presented at the One World festival and also will be shown during the Holocaust Era Assets Conference which will take place at the end of June 2009.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion with Lukáš Přibyl (the documentary´s director), Miloš Pojar (Chairman of OCHEA), Jiří Schneider (Conference Program and Media Coordinator), and Tomáš Kraus (Secretary of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic). The moderator of the debate was Karla Štěpánková, who was formerly involved with the Czech NGO People in Need. They discussed about the relevance of the Holocaust in today´s world, the benefits of screening the film in schools, and the upcoming Holocaust Era Assets Conference.
